July '21 Update
Welcome to our first Find Me Sales update. We’ll use these updates to bring you the latest on feature releases and company news. July has been busy following the public launch of the platform in June, with lots of helpful users submitting useful feedback. We prioritised two areas; site speed and new front end user pages.
Front End User Pages
We added a technology page which explains a little about the artificial intelligence natural language processing techniques that we use to extract insights from a leads website. It also gives us the opportunity to share information about our Gather API that finds leads. This bespoke lead generation technology is our core focus when generating online leads and it’s great to share this with you on our technology page.
“What is a lead?” was a question we started getting asked a lot! So we decided to put an image of our lead page front and center on the features page. We opted to highlight different areas of the image as users hover on text to explain features. We now have more engagement from our users, who understand the concept much faster. You can see it live in action on the features page.
Optimising Website Page Speed
More users meant we needed more powerful servers, so we upgraded them quickly. We also spent time optimising the website pages by reducing code and creating components for commonly used features on the site. Anyone who has tried to optimise the website page speed knows how curiously frustrating and simultaneously addictive it is to make the page faster.
We used Google Page Insights, Pingdom Website Speed Test and GT Metrix to find out issues that slowed down the site and how we could improve them. We managed to implement image optimisation, remove a load of unused code, and do code splitting to increase the speed quite drastically. When the wind blows in the right direction, we can get Page Insight desktop scores of 94%!
Looking Forward
Looking forward we’re aiming to work on stability and speed improvements for the Gather API. We’re also going to build an insights page so we can share information about the company and releases. We hope you have a lovely August and get a chance to relax over the Summer.
