September ‘23 Update
Welcome to our September update! We’ve been busy rolling out Global Leadsearch, and helping new users find sales in other countries for the first time. Find Me Sales also released our first ever annual report on the UK Business Landscape 2022-2023, which looks into the UK economy in depth by industry, region, and more. Find Me Sales also attended CogX Festival, where we met many interesting people. Let’s explore each of these topics in a little more detail, and find out what we have planned for October.
At the start of September Global Leadsearch officially launched. Global Leadsearch extends Find Me Sales capability to 200m+ businesses in almost every country of the World. This has been the biggest upgrade to Find Me Sales yet and introduced many new features, like Leads Map where you can see your leads. Since the launch, a big focus has been improving the speed and reliability of the new service as we handle businesses on every continent and in every language! One of the other big features has been the addition of finding UK businesses by activity keywords instead of just using SIC codes (UK Gov Standard Industry Classification codes for companies). There were some issues to overcome when switching back and forward between these two search modes, but we’re happy to report that Leadsearch is now working well again!
We released our first annual UK Business Landscape 2022-2023 report that shares insights into the UK economy based on analysis of the Companies House mirror that is incorporated into Leadsearch. The data, sourced directly from Companies House through a live web stream and database mirror, indicates that, on average, 78,306 companies open each month in the UK, whilst 31,577 close. The resilience of UK businesses is further underscored by the statistic that the average UK company has been trading for 8.12 years. An interesting observation from the data is that the fastest growing UK business sector in 2023 is "Retail sale via mail order houses or via Internet" that has 64,000 new businesses. CogX is a tech Festival that was held at the O2 Arena this year. CogX draws attendees from all over the World, with speakers including Yuval Noah Harari, Stephen Fry and a host of tech experts. The 3 day festival ran Tuesday to Thursday, with Find Me Sales attending on all three days including the CogX Festival & London Tech Drinks official VC and tech founder event on the 13th September. It’s rare to be at a place where there are so many interesting people, solving challenges in unique and forward thinking ways to improve the World.
October is a busy month for Find Me Sales. The primary goal is to stabilise the service for continued scale as we onboard more and more clients. We’re also going to release a number of features that have been requested by you. Finally, we’re going to look at improving our Gather API so that it can read hundreds of websites at the same time. Have an amazing October, we’ll look forward to sharing another update on the other side of the month!
